Coming to an open-air warehouse near you is the result of what happens when the most twisted minds in Milwaukee house and techno decide to get together and throw the most-anticipated and like totally awesome party of all of the 3rd week of June...

It's fucking FIST PUMP FEST yo! (The first of like twenty annual ones).

We are doing it betterdaze style and bringing back ye ole 10 hour debaucherous BBQ sessions at Moct.... fully complete with a BBQ by our own amazin chef "The Sitchiation"... a totally kick-ass Bags Tournament (no, not Kleinbeck-style bags) run by Lukewarm... and a hott hott leg-pump-worthy line-up of some of Milwaukee's most accomplished purveyors of house and techno...

what a great time.

super packed... sweaty... jammed dancefloor... JC's sound was actually the best installment i've heard in that place yet... and the best part of all: the music all day was flawless and simply amazing...

from LUKEWARM setting up the day the proper way with juicy downtempo, dub, and many 'listening orientated' et-ceteras... to DJ FEED ME's mood-starting disco, filtered house, and the like... to SIR FICE who played an impressive set of groovy deep-tech (perfect for the hour)... only to be followed by one of my favorite sets of the day: SCREENDOOR's summery, organic, cerebral house/tech (sometimes villalobos-esque... again perfectly fitting for the slot)... and then the soul fuel boys JONN HAWLEY and JC DISKO brought the sun down in absolute perfect fashion with a deep and soulful set of sultry house music... MARCUS AURELIUS capitalized on his slot by successfully taking the party up a notch from deep into techier house landscapes... twas the perfect hand-off for me (DELA) and HERNAN SANCHEZ to follow. we decided to keep our first half-hour deep and groovy with 120 bpm-ish percussion/bass-heavy tech house... the last 30 minutes saw our pitch gradually jump to circa 125 with a much more jackier feel maintaining a decent groove and snap to it...

LADY D followed and easily played one of the best sets i can remember of her... it was slightly different than i have heard her before... she kept that tempo up there and much more on the techier tip with shades of deep, older schooled loopier stuff, and chicago jack layered in and out over and about whilst still keeping it forward-thinking (it was delish... very impressed)...

TIMEFOG? holy shitski. what else can i say? that set was amaaaaazing. they played their signature HYBRID + LIVE PA using 4 decks of traktor + ableton via a slew of nerdy-looking controllers... the end result? probably one of the best sets i've heard in awhile. it was proper fucking peak hour minimal techno. absolutely PROPER. evidence? the floor had a hole in it when the light came on.

all in all... musically, the day's soundtrack flowed perfectly in place. couldn't beat it with a stick.


apologies to all on not being able to set up the Wii (we didn't have the mod equipment in time)... but big congrats to DONGER and LUKE BALZ for winning the bag toss tourney.

glad everyone enjoyed the sound, it's quite a chore to get moct to sound decent. glad nobody left when their circuit breaker popped during lady d's set. i think it may have helped a bit actually cuz peeps were just beggin for it to come back

side note: we need to get luke his recorder back a.s.a.p. cuz i wanna hear the sets again

i definately think we all deserve awards.... including the supporting people who came and endured the long day/evening of music and drinks.

there was some serious fist pumping going on all day/night (king huey & gang, etc etc).

and wiscojazz/soulfuel = seamless and professional collaboration there gents.

yeah, and i think your sound was great in there JC. good teching plus i think the concentrated approach on that side was really key. it kept the sound from being thrown all around in there. isolated kinda. well done.

ALSO, i have luke's recorder. i peeped a few of the sets from last night. FUCKING EPIC. that whole like 9 hour recording or whatever it is is like a piece of art. it flows so focking well. from donwtempo to techno and the perfect escalations inbetween. effing perfection. true evidence of professionalism at the helm boys (and girl).

(unfortunately when the power went out it shut off luke's recorder though... so we missed the last 10 minute's of LADY D and ALL of timefog <--- fucking gutted about that one). GRRRRRRRR.

anyway... AWARD WINNING TIMES GENTS. award winning.

Really glad I made it out. Music was fucking quality. Also nice to converse with some of the Thievery Corp crew who stopped through. Good job fellas!
