[ Note: I am not a promoter for this show. Just a fan of good electronic music and it's nice to see some quality acts come through town (even on a Sunday). It would be nice to see mke kids support this so venues like Mad Planet continue to book electronic touring acts. ]
For those into Flying Lotus/Brainfeeder, the Low End Theory out of Los Angeles DO NOT SLEEP on this show. Some heavy heavy hip hop / glitch hop / wonky / dubstep-ish like beats from some of the LA music scene's new shining lights.
I am most excited for the opener Nosaj Thing - his debut album on the Alpha pup label is just beautiful. Daedelus is the definite headliner though as his live set is something else.
Don't know much about Jogger or Buffalo. A google search for Jogger found that they are a hip hop/electronic/folk 'band' with some similar sounds to Animal Collective. Came up with nothing looking for Buffalo though.

JOGGER

Another product of the fertile cross-breeding programme in operation around LA right now, Jogger are a live electronics act combining psyche-folk leanings a la Animal Collective with the sort of beat science trimmings more associated with the many egos of Daedelus. Jogger's aesthetic centres around a few well chosen sonic themes, from the Afrobeat debted guitars to the electronic rhythm programming swinging from techno crescendos to glitched hiphop, and the cherry-on-the-cake of sublime vocal harmonies, giving the project a very indie-friendly edge. If the current wave of Brooklyn kids making African inspired psyche-pop were to move to California and hang out at the Low End Theory nights, it's quite possible they'd sound just like this.

Mystery guest ?!? Not sure...

Hailing from the intensely fertile LA beat scene, Nosaj Thing aka Jason Chung is the latest in a line spanning from Flylo to the MF Gaslamp Killer to spin a new angle on sun drenched hiphop electronics. He shares a fascination for hiphop tempos and electronic production methods with many of his peers, but what sets Nosaj out on his own is the filigree attention to detail paid to his work, combining a level of intricate melodic and harmonic complexity generally associated with UK artists like Aphex, whom Nosaj cites as a major influence.
