No strangers to the sometimes uncomfortable but ultimately rewarding world of musical experimentation & risk taking, the new experimental offshoot of projekt, abstrakt has emerged, spearheaded by the eclectic purveyor, Screendoor. Having arisen from 1990's party culture, the abstrakt collective appreciate the necessity both of abrasive tastemaking & mass appeal through the mediums of DJ'ing and live performance, and throughout their years have made it their mission to seamlessly combine these two approaches to create unique one-of-a-kind events. With this philosophy, the collective answers the call to ritual gathering once more. Expect a party, a good time, an experience, but most importantly, refuse to expect anything. Spontaneity will be the sole guideline of this event.

A serendipitous encounter some years ago brought fellow techno enthusiasts Jeff Pietro and Karl Meier together; as did a shared interest in the avant-garde and all things subversive. Their dj sets (opening for the likes of Jeff Mills, Surgeon, 2562, Kode 9 and Convextion) look to the future while being influenced by the music of the past, focusing on dynamism and recontextualization, while their productions highlight a willingness to eschew genre conventions in favor of stressing arrangements and forward-thinking sound design. Karl has released on the techno connoisseur label Sandwell District while Jeff continues to work on textural music on Vermilion and post-dubstep experiments on the Borrowed Language label.

Jeff and Karl will be performing a special Ableton DJ set together and individual sets.

Sam Derickson is the original zod mastermind and an impeccable dj who incorporates a keen sense of composition along with tight mixing skills to create a seamless sonic tapestry. He started off spinning experimental minded techno and acid, and after working tirelessly, has created a style that blends all types of bass music,regardless of style or genre - a purveyor / preserver of the underground, if you will, a sort of art-historian of the electronic underground music scene.

A fixture of the Chalice in the Palace Soundsystem dj crew and a local producer of heavy, heavy dub and electronic beats. Expect an upfront selection of new tunes from the lab that spans genres and drops bass.
